Ultra South Africa 2014
We have all heard the rumours and some have even seen pictures… But, the wait’s over, we can now officially say that Ultra Music Festival is coming to South Africa in February 2014. And they’re bringing TIËSTO with them! Other headlining acts include Alesso, Nicky Romero, Krewella and W&W. Local heroes Goldfish, Black Coffee, Mi Casa, Euphonik and the 5fm favourite DJ Fresh.
Pics hinting at Ultrafest’s plans for South Africa snapped by @Euphonik, @DJFreshSA and @GoldfishLive around Johannesburg and Cape Town have been circulating for months. And it’s finally been confirmed, Cape Town’s Ostrich Farm will host first, and on Valentines day nogal. On the 15th it’s happening at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Jo’burg, and we’re definitely gonna be there.
Over the past three years we (Electric) have successfully toured the world’s biggest DJs and in doing so feel that the South African audience has been building up momentum to take on a festival of massive proportion… All electronically focused of course. Having been to Ultra Miami and Europe, we felt the market was indeed ready for Ultra, South Africa, and judging by the levels of anticipation here, it is.
Electric has deemed us worthy South Africa, we forbid you to disappoint them. Early bird general access tickets for Capetown are selling for R600, but we know time is different down there and Capetonians are probably more phase 1 kinda people, which are going for R700. Phase 2 tickets cost R800 and they are yet to announce the price of phase 3 tickets. High rollers can get their VIP phase 1 tickets at R900, phase 2 – R1100 and phase 3 prices are yet to be announced. GATES in Cape Town will open at 2PM.
Jo’burgers get in at 12PM! Whoooo! Early bird general access passes will cost us R650, phase 1 – R750, phase 2 – R850 and phase 3 is yet to be announced. VIP peeps can expect to pay R1200 during phase 1, R1500 during phase 2 and they are yet to announce the price of phase 3 tickets. For those who want VVIP treatment, tickets are available at R3000, prices of phase 2 tickets are also yet to be announced.
Please note: The artist phases and ticket phases are not related – the artist phases refer to the waves of artist announcements that take place, while the ticket phases refer to the batch of ticket sales eg: once phase/batch 1 is sold out, phase/batch 2 kicks in.
